AUGUSTA, GA. – The UNC Pembroke women's basketball team connected on 13-of-16 attempts from the charity stripe, including 7-of-8 in the fourth quarter, to capture a 50-48 victory over Augusta on Saturday afternoon at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
 
The victory for the Braves (3-11, 3-10 PBC) marks the first time beating Augusta in both meetings since the 2019-20 season. The setback for the Jaguars (6-8, 5-5 PBC) is only the third loss when playing on their home floor.

			| 1ST QUARTER | 
		
			| Augusta took what would be its largest lead of the afternoon, 10-5, off of a made trey from November Morton with four minutes remaining in the period. Alcenia Purnell's jumper wit at the two-minute mark trim the Braves deficit back to 11-9, but the hosts held a 14-9 advantage heading into the second quarter. | 
		
			| 2ND QUARTER | 
		
			| UNCP knotted the score at 14 apiece with a three ball from Alcenia Purnell at the 7:55 mark. The Braves took their first lead, 16-15, with a running layup from Aaliyah Bell halfway through the quarter. UNC Pembroke limited the hosts to just 1-for-10 from the field, but connected on 5-for-8 free throw attempts to hold a slight 21-19 advantage over UNCP as the teams heading into the locker rooms. | 
		
			| 3RD QUARTER | 
		
			| UNC Pembroke took its largest lead of the afternoon, 28-23, with two made free throws from Kelci Adams four minutes into the half. Zairya West tied the game at 30 apiece with a 3-pointer with 2:25 left in the period. Kelci Adams drained a three to put the Braves back in front 33-30 with 90 seconds left remaining in the stanza. | 
		
			| 4TH QUARTER | 
		
			| The Jaguars took a 46-42 lead with a layup from Kennedi Manning with 1:44 left to play. The Braves used a big three from Alcenia Purnell to trail 46-45 just 20 seconds later. UNCP took a slight 47-46 lead with a layup from Purnell, and connected on three out of the last four attempts from the free throw line to secure the victory. |

			| + Kelci Adams scored a game-high 19 points highlighted by a 4-for-8 clip from beyond the arc. Adams just missed a double-double grabbing eight rebounds in 34 minutes of action. + Alcenia Purnell added 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting.
 + Gabby Smith logged seven points and grabbed four rebounds.
