SALISBURY – The UNC Pembroke softball team picked up two insurance runs in the sixth inning and stellar pitching from
Raygan Larson to capture a 3-1 victory in game one over Catawba on Saturday afternoon at Whitley Field. Catawba avoided the series sweep with a 4-2 win in game two fueled by six hits and three Braves errors.
The victory for the Braves (12-6) in game one marked just the fourth victory against Catawba when playing on the road. The Indians (16-6) have won four out of their last eight contests this season.
