Softball Falls To No. 10 Young Harris In PBC Semifinals

YOUNG HARRIS, GA. – The UNC Pembroke softball jumped out to an early lead, but a big third inning and four Braves errors helped No. 10 Young Harris to a 7-3 victory on Saturday afternoon at the YHC Softball Field in the Peach Belt Conference Semifinals. 
 
The Braves (26-13, 14,6 PBC) fall to 0-7 against Young Harris when playing on the Mountain Lions home field. The Mountain Lions (31-9, 17-3 PBC) will now play North Georgia in the PBC Tournament Finals on May 15.

RECORDS UNC Pembroke 26-13; Young Harris 31-9

KEY INNINGS
TOP 1 UNC Pembroke put runners on first and second after back to back singles from Mary Sells and Jordan Adcox, followed by a single through the right side from Tatum Brummitt to score Sells. Alex Watkins singled and then advanced to second after a fielding error which allowed both Adcox and Brummitt to score to give the Braves an early 3-0 lead. 
BOT 3 Young Harris loaded the bases with a single from Emily Harris, a single from Biz Walters and a fielder's choice from Carly Rigsbee. Haylie Shope cleared the bases with a grand slam to give the Mountain Lions the lead for good.
