KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Gillian Manning topped the field in a pair of events, including a school record performance in the 400-yard Individual Medley, and the UNC Pembroke swimming team raked in an additional seven All-Conference Carolinas accolades, to highlight action for the Braves on Day 3 of the Conference Carolinas Championships inside the Kingsport Aquatics Center.
 
Emmanuel leads the way in the team standings heading into final-day action in southeastern Tennessee. The Lions have amassed 457 points through the first three days. Barton is second with 450 points, and the Braves currently occupy the third spot with 411 points.
 
Manning sacked her own 3-week-old school record in the 400-yard Individual Medley and touched just 0.27 seconds ahead of Emmanuel's Susana Ungo who had registered the top qualifying time in Friday morning's preliminaries. Manning also took top honors in the 200-yard Freestyle, out-gunning the rest of that field by nearly three seconds.
 
Mariel Mencia Martinez posted a runner-up finish in the 100-yard Freestyle discipline, while Ketlyn Rodriguez Matos recorded third-place finishes in both the 400-yard Individual Medley and the 100-yard Breaststroke. The Black & Gold finished 1-3-4 in the 400-Yard Individual Medley, with Anna Miller occupying the No. 4 position.
 
Saturday's final-day action will get underway at 10 a.m. with the preliminary round of the 200-yard Backstroke. The final session of the four-day event is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
