                     WINSTON-SALEM – Cole Thomas, 
Joshua Chepkesir, and 
Quanterra Harrison all picked up event titles for the UNC Pembroke track & field teams as the men's team claimed a runner-up finish and the women's team finished third on the final day of the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track. 
 
Thomas cleared 4.58-meters in Pole Vault on his way to a new personal-best and a first-place finish. Chepkesir logged his second event title during the two-day meet when he bested the field in the 3000-meter Run. The 4x400 Relay squad comprised of 
Ervin Almanzar, 
Chris Spellman, 
Walker Mabe, 
DaMarr Harvey earned a spot on the podium with a time of 3:24.52 for a second place finish.
 
On the women's side, Harrison continued to be a dominate force in the 60-meter Hurdles earning all-conference honors and a championship title with a time of 8.74. Jalea Thomas (200m Dash) earned a runner-up finish, while 
Dy'Air McCormick (60m Dash, 200m Dash), 
Caroline Flax (Pole Vault), and 
Lillian Marino (Shot Put) were each decorated with all-conference honors in their events with third place finishes.
Joshua Chepkesir was named as the Conference Carolinas Men's Track Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of the meet. The Braves tallied a total of 17 all-conference honors throughout the two-day meet. The men's team finished 37 points behind Mount Olive, who claimed the title on the men's side. Mount Olive also won the women's team championship with 132 points. The women's team finished just one point behind Southern Wesleyan, who captured the runner-up spot.
