GREENVILLE, S.C. – A personal-best mark in Pole Vault this past weekend at the Liberty Open has helped Cole Thomas pick up Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week honors, league officials announced Tuesday. 
 
A native of Tallahassee, Fla., Thomas cleared a height of 4.55 meters in Pole Vault for an 11^th place finish. He was the highest-finishing Division II student-athlete in the event. The mark also helped the freshman move into first place in the Conference Carolinas standings.
 
Thomas has competed in four meets this season, and set personal-bests in three of those events.
