COLUMBIA, S.C. – Orlandus Gamble tallied an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a leap of 2.11 meters en route to a runner-up finish in the High Jump to headline a noteworthy day for the UNC Pembroke track & field team on Saturday at the NCAA Division I-heavy UofSC Open at USC's Sheila and Morris Creggor Track.
 
Gamble outdid 12 NCAA Division I student-athletes in the event, while also matching his NCAA provo mark registered earlier this season at the ERAU Spikes Classic. UNCP's student-athletes combined to record 11 personal-best marks in Columbia, S.C., including four in the men's 100-meter Dash alone.
 
The Black & Gold will dive into the postseason on Friday when they make the short trip to Mount Olive to take part in the two-day Conference Carolinas Championships at UMO's Ray McDonald Sr. Track & Field Complex.
