GREENVILLE, S.C. – A good showing for Cedric Douglas at the USC Open on Saturday paved the way for the sophomore to be named as the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. 
 
A native of Lee County, Douglas started the competition with a 15^th place finish in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 41.71-meters. The weekend for Douglas was highlighted with an impressive 6^th place finish in Discus Throw and established a new personal-best in the event with a throw of 48.10-meters. 
 
Douglas enters the Conference Carolinas Championship set to begin on Friday ranked second in Discus Throw after Saturday's performance. The two-year veteran will also be ranked fourth in Shot Put and 11^th in Hammer Throw.
