PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke swimming team won all 13 out of 14 events on the way to a victory over King for Senior Day on Saturday at the Sue Walsh Swimming Pool.
The Braves defeated the Tornado 207-43.
Ketlyn Rodriguez Matos broke a Sue Walsh Swimming Pool facility record in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:53.24. Rodriguez Matos won the events, along with the 100-yard Breaststroke, the 200-yard Breaststroke, and swam a leg on the 400-yard Freestyle relay team.
Mariel Mencia Martinez won both the 50-yard Freestyle and the 100-yard Freestyle titles, while newcomers
Katie Raleigh won a trio of individual titles and
Benedetta Pepe Pugliese won two individual titles.
The Braves now turn their attention to the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The four-day meet begins on Feb. 21 and will be held at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
