Braves Rout USC Beaufort 19-7 In Midweek Action

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke led 14-2 after three innings on its way to cruising to a 19-7 win over USC Beaufort in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Richard Gray Sports Complex.

Joey Rezek homered for the third time in five games, while Kody O'Connor and Will Hood each drove in three runs to go along with Rezek's three RBI, while six UNCP (21-6) pitchers combined to strikeout 12 Sand Shark (7-18) batters.

Tuesday's contest was the first time the two programs have met on the diamond. The win marked the sixth time this season the Braves have posted 19 or more runs in a game.

With inclement weather expected at Mount Olive this weekend, UNCP will now be back in action Thursday, March 21, as they hit the road to face to the Trojans. The originally scheduled Friday-Saturday series will now kick off Thursday with a doubleheader at 2 p.m., followed by the series finale on Sunday with first pitch tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m.
