GLENVILLE, W. VA. – Five UNC Pembroke wrestlers finished inside the top five to highlight action at the season-opening Pioneer Open on Saturday inside the Waco Center.

Don Edwards led the way with a third-place finish at 141 pounds, with Joey Bruscino, De'Shawn Barbee, and Jackson Buck taking home fourth-place finishes in the 125, 141, and 197 pound divisions, respectively. 

The Black & Gold tallied 91.5 team points to take seventh place at the event.

The Braves will be back in action Sunday, November 9th as they host the PJ Smith Pembroke Classic. Wrestling action is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
