VIRGINIA BEACH – Daniel Dawson logged a third-place finish in the men's 60m to highlight Day 1 action at the D1 Pre-Nationals on Friday.

Dawson crossed in a personal-best time of 6.84 in the prelims, and then ran a 6.84 in the finals to take third.

Carina Fiorucci was the highest finisher on the women's side, placing 11th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.35m.

Both squads will be back in action Saturday for the final day of the D1 Pre-Nationals, with events set to begin at 11 a.m.
