Baseball Shuts Out Coker In Midweek Win

FLORENCE, S.C. – Five different UNC Pembroke pitchers combined to strike out 13 batters as the Braves picked up a 1-0 shutout win over Coker on Tuesday afternoon at CarolinaBank Field.

Rhett Burley and Seth Willis combined for ten of the punchouts, with Willis going the final two innings to pick up his sixth save of the year. Rhett James earned his second win of the season with two scoreless relief innings.

Jake Bradley gave the Braves all they would need with a fifth-inning RBI double.

The Braves (21-13) improved to 35-13 in the all-time series with the Cobras (20-15). 

UNCP will be back in action Friday, April 4 as they host Belmont Abbey for a Conference Carolinas series. The series will be held at CarolinaBank Field in Florence, S.C. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
