HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Freshman Jana Zett turned in a 17th-place finish and broke the 6K school record in the process to help the women's squad to a 12th place finish to highlight action Saturday at the UAH Charger Invite at John Hunt Park.

Zett covered the course in a time of 21:18.1 to establish the new record. Faith Jeptoo crossed in 21:43.0 to take 28th, with Reid Harvey-McKean finishing 65th at 22:17.5. Sophia Olszak (personal-best 23:24.7) took 162nd, Sarra Belgacem (23:29.9) finished 174th, with Devyn Soles (26:20.6) crossing in 325th. Cindy Lopez-Vargas finished 347th with a time of 28:07.9 to round out the female finishers.Jeptoo now holds the fourth-fastest 6K time in school history, while Harvey-McKean now holds the 13th-fastest.

On the men's side, Ed Carney was the top Braves finisher in the 8K race with a time of 25:43.4 to take 150th. Ryan Ibarra (25:49.2) was 162nd, Charlie Miller (personal-best 25:57.3) took 182nd, with Payden Lewis (26:36.4) finishing 266th. Hayes Weatherman crossed in a personal-best 26:38.3 to take 271st, with Jared Bekkering finishing 357th with a personal-best time of 27:40.4 to round out the men's finishers.

The women's team scored 385 points to take 12th overall, while the men tallied 785 points to finish 27th overall.
 
UNCP will resume its race schedule on Saturday, November 7 at the Conference Carolinas Championships. The event will be held at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, S.C. The women are set to begin to at 9 a.m., with the men's race scheduled to follow at 10:15 a.m.
