GREENVILLE, S.C. – An event title coupled with a school record at the VMI Winter Relays paved the way for Gary Parker to be named as the Conference Carolinas Men's Field Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

The Bladenboro native took first place in the weight throw with a school-record mark of 18.59 meters, while also hitting an NCAA Provisional standard and turning in the best mark in Conference Carolinas this season.

The Braves will be back in action Saturday, February 14 as they head to Winston-Salem to compete in the Asics Sound Invite. The event will be held at the JDL Fast Track.
