Baseball Completes Sweep Over Salem

PEMBROKE – UNC Pembroke faced an early deficit, but bounced back for the third-straight day en route to a 9-2 win and series sweep over Salem on Sunday at Sammy Cox Field.

Landon Lucas closed out an impressive weekend with another multi-hit day, while also earning the win after going five innings and allowing just an unearned run.

KEY INNINGS
BOT 1 After Salem jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top half, the Braves once again answered with a run of its own on an RBI triple from Landon Lucas.
BOT 3 Tyler Steele was hit by a pitch and stole second before coming home on Mason Mozeley's two-run homer to give the Braves a 3-1 lead.
BOT 5 After a Salem error allowed one run to score, Peyton Young followed with a two-RBI double before Lucas tacked on another with a sac fly to stretch the lead to 7-1.
