Baseball Drops Series Opener At No. 11 Francis Marion

FLORENCE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but No. 11 Francis Marion came alive in the middle innings on the way to an 8-3 win over the Braves in Conference Carolinas action Friday evening at Sparrow Stadium.

Mason Mozeley homered as part of a 2-4 night, while Daniel Stephens was 3-4 with a double.

The Braves (24-10, 15-7 CC) fell to 50-78-1 all-time against the Patriots (29-7, 18-4 CC). 

The Black & Gold will be back in action Saturday as they wrap up the series with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
