AS A JUNIOR (2012)
Named to the NCCSIA All-State team and was a three-time PBC Goalkeeper of the Week on September 4, September 24 and October 22 … As the starting goalkeeper, he played in 19 games with 19 starts to his credit to record 1629 minutes on the field … Nationally ranked 16th in goals against average and second in the PBC (0.773) and fourth in save percentage and first in the PBC (0.853) … Also nationally ranked in saves per game (68th) and total saves (31st) … Finished the season in second in the PBC in saves (81) and was tied for sixth in the league in goals against with 14 … Posted a record in goal of 12-5-2 … Notched six shutouts against Mount Olive, Anderson, Clayton State, Barton, Mars Hill and Flagler, as well as collecting a season-high 12 saves against Flagler in the second round of the NCAA Tournament … Also had more than five saves against Clayton State (8), Francis Marion (9), Mars Hill (8), Young Harris (6) and Mars Hill (6) … Assisted in holding Mount Olive, Wingate, Georgia Southwestern, Barton and Pfeiffer to less than 10 shots during the game … Helped UNCP post 10 shutouts during the season … UNCP was second in the PBC in goals-against average (0.72) and only allowed 14 goals which was also second in the league … The defense held opponents to a .051 shot percentage … Recorded 110 minutes in the standstill contest with Mars Hill and in the loss to Flagler in the second round of the NCAA Tournament … Contributed to this season’s school record in number of goals in a single game (10) and largest margin of victory (10) against Chowan, and minimum shots allowed in a game (3) against Barton … Helped UNCP rank fourth in save percentage (0.861), ninth in shutout percentage (0.53), 12th in team goals against average (0.72), 18th in total assists (39) and 25th in scoring offense (2.26) in the nation … Contributed to the squad matching its third-best finish in 20 years (NCAA Division II era) with 12 wins … Helped the Braves make history in 2012 as they advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament for the first time in 10 years.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2011)
Awarded All-PBC and was a member of the squad that earned the PBC Team Sportsmanship Award … Nationally ranked 24th in goals against average and second in the PBC (0.863) and 33rd in save percentage and third in the PBC (0.797) … Named PBC Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 … As the netmider, he played in 16 games and started in 14 games to record more than 1,358 minutes on the field … Finished the season in seventh in the PBC in saves (51) and was third in the league in goals against with 13 … Assisted in UNCP placing first in the PBC in goals against average … Posted a record in goal of 7-5-2 … Notched three shutouts against Young Harris, Georgia Southwestern and Francis Marion, as well as collecting a season-high seven saves against Young Harris and six against Clayton State …. Also had five saves against Lander in the final game of the regular season and again in the PBC Tournament, four against Montevallo, USC Aiken and Flagler … Registered saves in nine games despite allowing Coker and Flagler a season-high two goals … Contributed to this season’s school record in number of goals in a single game in a season against Chowan … Helped UNCP rank 19th in scoring offense (2.39), 22nd in total goals (43), 17th in team goals against average (0.8), 35th in shutout percentage (0.39), 34th in W-L-T percentage (.667) and 34th in save percentage (0.805) in the nation.
AS A FRESHMAN (2010)
Named one of the South Atlantic region’s top 20 players to watch by TopDrawerSoccer.com and garnered Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week on Nov. 2 … The weekly laurel was given to Hanson for his brilliant performance in a double overtime tie with North Georgia where he tallied 155 shutout minutes in goal, matched a season- and career-high eight saves and collected his third save of the year … Played and started in all 18 games for the Braves to total a combined 1,655 minutes on the field … While in goal, he allowed opponents 29 goals for a goals allowed average of 1.58 and a saves average of .707 … Finished his freshman year with a record in goal of 5-9-4 while collecting three total shutouts in the total 245 shots faced … Collected a season-best eight saves, twice against Flagler and North Georgia … Tallied saves against Wingate (6), Barton (6), Lynn (5), Lander (5) and Queens (5) along with 13 other opponents … Posted shutouts against Pfeiffer, St. Andrews and Chowan.

Prepped at Apex High School for coach Kevin Todd … Played club soccer for Greensboro Soccer Academy and coach Chris Little … Played in 13 games as a prep senior, including nine as a goalkeeper, in leading Cougars to a 16-6-0 record … Compiled a 5-1-0 record and a 0.51 goals against average between the pipes en route to his second consecutive honorable mention all-conference laurels … Recorded a 9-1-1 record and a 0.61 GAA as a prep junior … Compiled a 20-6-4 record, a 0.77 GAA and 17 shutouts during his career with Greensboro YSO … Selected to 2008 Super Y National Select team, was a two-time (2006, 2008) participant with the state of North Carolina Olympic Development Program and helped lead his squads to a semifinal finish at the NCYSA state cup, as well as a national finalist spot in the 2007 U.S. Club tournament ... Also helped lead the U16 squad to the 2009 club national championship in Los Angeles.
