HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Cape Fear High School under coach Jeff McPhail … A four-year letterwinner in softball … In her junior campaign, she assisted the team to a 26-3 overall record as the team was undefeated (18-0) during the regular season … Team became conference tournament champions, Eastern Regional Champion and the runner-up in the 4A state playoffs … Named all-conference, all-district, all-region, all-state and athlete of the week … Finished the season with a .402 batting average, 39 hits, four doubles, four triples, a pair of homers, 35 runs and 20 RBI.

The daughter of Barbara and Joseph Melvin … Ranked 45th out of her 344-member senior class and graduated with a 3.75 grade point average … Was in the top-10 percent of her freshman class … A member of the Beta Club and mentor program … A biology major at UNCP.
