AS A FRESHMAN (2013-14): Redshirted … Competed in two tournaments as an unattached wrestler … Compiled an 8-2 (.800) record, including a 4-1 clip against NCAA Division II competition … Placed at both tournaments, including a second place finish at the Shorter Open … Also placed third at the Pembroke Classic ... Went 5-1 at the Pembroke Classic with a pair of bonus point victories … Tallied a 3-1 mark at the Shorter Open.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Havelock High School for coach Ed Cruz … Also wrestled with the Y.E.S. Wrestling organization under coach Jason Loukides … Registered a 50-2 (.962) record as a prep senior, including 25 pins … Captured the conference, region and state titles and helped lead the Rams to a third place finish at the state tournament as well … Turned in a 47-7 (.870) mark as a junior, while also tallying conference and region champion accolades … Also finished runner-up at the state tournament … While competing with Y.E.S., registered runner-up finishes at the Fila Junior National Championship (76 kg), the 2012 Fila Junior World team trials (74 kg) and the University World team trials (84 kg) … Also finished seventh at the University national championships (84 kg) … Also lettered in track & field at Havelock High School.
