Struck out eight, walked one and yielded three earned runs in picking up the win in his collegiate debut in the series opener with Salem International … Struck out a pair in two hitless innings of relief work against Bloomfield … Picked up second win with two scoreless innings of relief at home against Coker, while surrendering one hit and striking out one … Struck out eight and scattered two hits across five innings from the hill in grabbing the win in the series opener with Clarion.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
An all-conference selection at East Rowan High School for coach Brian Hightower … Earned all-county, all-conference and all-state laurels after an impressive senior campaign that saw him compile an 8-1 record and a 1.75 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 56.0 innings pitched in leading the Mustangs to the state championship … Struck out seven or more batters on six occasions, including a season-best eight strikeouts against West Rowan and North Iredell … Struck out six in registering a perfect game against Carson … Also struck out seven in a complete game outing against West Iredell … Booked a two-run home run in his first offensive performance of the season against Eastside (Ga.) … Played travel ball for Rowan Legion Post 342 and coach Jim Gantt … Also played football at East Rowan.
