Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): Earned all-American status … NCAA Qualifier … NCAA Super Region 2 champion … Mountain East Conference champion … Compiled a 24-5 (.828) record, including a 12-2 clip in tournament settings … Tallied 14 bonus-point victories, including five wins and five technical falls … Made four trips to the podium, including event titles at the Pembroke Classic, the Mountain East Conference Championships and the NCAA Super Region I Tournament … Also finished fourth at the Midwest Classic … Captured 11 of his first 12 matchups of the campaign, with his lone loss coming at the hands of NC State’s Jarrett Trombley at the Wolfpack Duals … Registered a perfect 3-0 run through the Pembroke Classic, with all three victories coming with bonus points … Won his last nine matches of the season, including an unblemished 4-0 run through the NCAA Super Region 2 Tournament … Nine-match span included seven bonus-point wins.
 
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19): NCAA Qualifier … NCAA Super Region 2 champion … Posted a 28-7 (.800) record, including a 10-1 clip in dual meets … Tallied 17 bonus-point victories, including team-bests in both pins (8) and technical falls (7) … Went 18-2 against NCAA Division II competition … Made four trips to the podium, including event titles at both the Citrus Invitational and the NCAA Super Region 2 Tournament … Split four matches at the season-opening Hokie Open, before rebounding to capture 16 of his next 18 matches … Span included a 4-1 performance at the Midwest Classic (2nd), as well as a perfect 4-0 run through the Citrus Invitational … Lone dual meet setback of the season came to Kutztown’s Matt Wilde … Rebounded to tack up wins in his final six dual meet matchups of the campaign … Went 3-0 at the NCAA Super Region II Tournament with technical fall wins in the bookends of the performance … Registered a win over CSU Pueblo’s Josiah Seaton in his opening match at the NCAA Championships, but fell to nationally-ranked Cole Laya (Wheeling Jesuit) and Marcus Povlick of McKendree.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): NCAA Qualifier ... 1st Team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference ... ECAC Rookie of the Year ... Compiled a 33-15 (.688) record, including an 18-9 mark in tournament competition and a 15-6 clip in dual meets … Posted 21 bonus-point victories (10 majors, eight pins, three tech falls) … Went 24-12 against NCAA Division II competition … Earned a trip to the podium at three tournaments, including third-place showings at the Pembroke Classic and the NCAA Midwest Super Regional … Also finished eighth at the NCAA Championships ... Picked up first collegiate victory at the Hokie Open with a 9-3 decision over Chattanooga’s T.J. Hicks … Finished with four victories (4-2) at that event … Went 5-2 at the Pembroke Classic, including four bonus-point victories … Went 2-1 at the Newberry Duals, with the lone loss coming in overtime to top-ranked Brett Velasquez of St. Cloud State … Registered a 3-2 clip at the Midwest Classic … Dropped opening ECAC dual meet bout, but finished with a 4-1 conference record … Fell in semifinals of NCAA Midwest Super Regional to ninth-ranked Blake Glogouski of Lake Erie, but rebounded with two-straight bonus-point victories … Dropped his opener at the NCAA Championships to fourth-ranked Marcus Povlick from McKendree, but won consecutive matches with Kutztown’s Austin Petril and ninth-ranked Vincent Distefanis of Seton Hill to clinch all-American status.  
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Chatham Central High School for coach Joe Little … Finished prep career with a 171-7 (.961) record … Turned in a perfect 36-0 clip as a senior on the way to his third-straight state championship … Also named an NHSCA All-American and picked up second-straight conference wrestler of the year and all-conference nods … Tallied a 42-0 record as a junior and was named region wrestler of the year … Also lettered in cross country, track & field, soccer and tennis for the Bears … A two-time state qualifier in cross country.
 
PERSONAL: The son of Tina and Morris Daggett … Has an older brother, James … Maintained a 3.9 cumulative grade point average at Chatham Central High School … A biology major at UNCP.
