Bunn, Tardanico Named Braves Of The Week For Week Of August 29-September 4
PEMBROKE – Football’s B.J. Bunn and cross country’s Lea Tardanico have both been named Braves Of The Week for their performances in season-opening events for both teams last week.
Tardanico, a senior from Miami, Fla., covered the 4K at the Elon Open on Thursday in 15:51 to wrap up a team-best 22nd place finish and pace the Braves to a sixth place showing at NCAA Division I-laden event. Tardanico bested 18 NCAA Division I student-athletes at the event as well.
Bunn, a native of Burlington, caught seven passes for 73 yards and a third quarter touchdown as UNCP rallied all the way back from a 17-0 second-quarter deficit to stun Winston-Salem State, 20-17, on Saturday evening at Bowman-Gray Stadium. It was the first series road victory for the Braves over the Rams.
