Farmer, Pruitt Named Braves Of The Week For November 27-December 3
PEMBROKE – Women's basketball's Aliyah Farmer and men's basketball's Akia Pruitt have both been named Braves of the Week for the week of November 27-December 3.
Farmer made it back-to-back Braves of the Week awards in a double-double performance against Young Harris. The sophomore logged her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds in just 25 minutes of action. Farmer went 5-for-8 from the floor and knocked down three of her four free throws. She also tacked on two assists and a steal.
Pruitt averaged 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in two games against Mount Olive and Young Harris. The sophomore scored a game- and season-high 20 points against the Trojans, while hauling in a career-high 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Pruitt was 8-for-14 from the floor against UMO and a perfect 4-for-4 at the charity stripe. Against the Mountain Lions, Pruitt chipped in 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting and grabbed a game-best eight boards. He tacked on six blocks, four assists and one steal in the two outings.
