North Greenville Atop NCBWA Division II Top 25 For 10th-Straight Poll

– It was déjà vu all over again in Wednesday’s release of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 as defending national champion North Greenville raked in all 20 available first-place votes to retain the No. 1 spot for the 10
th-straight poll.
The Crusaders matched Angelo State (2020-21) for the second-longest reign at No. 1 in the 21-year history of the NCBWA Division II Top 25 which debuted in time for the 2003 season. Tampa holds the record for longest reign as the Spartans stayed on top of the national ranking for 18-straight weeks during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Three teams – Azusa Pacific (19), Rollins (21) and West Texas A&M (25) – re-entered the NCBWA Division II Top 25 this week for the first time since the preseason edition of the poll, while three other squads – Franklin Piece (15), Wayne State (Mich.) (16) and New Haven (24) – made their season debut in the national ranking.
It is New Haven’s first appearance in the listing since the Chargers locked up a No. 8 spot in the final poll of the 2018 campaign.
