In his third stint with the Braves, Britt begins his second year back in Pembroke for the 2025-26 academic year. In addition to his coaching duties, Britt also serves as a lecturer in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department.
No stranger to Pembroke, Britt served a key role on the UNCP coaching staff in 2015 and 2016 when the Braves churned out 65 victories, including 32 wins inside Peach Belt Conference play. Britt was at the forefront of an All-Conference campaign in 2015 for then-sophomore reliever Alex Britt who registered a 2.12 earned run average and seven saves across 51 innings pitched. Andy Sullivan, a 5-win starter, also raked in All-PBC laurels.
The Chadbourn native took over the reigns of the baseball program at Southeastern Community College prior to the 2017 season and led the Rams to 62 wins over the next five campaigns, including a 26-25 clip in 2018. Southeastern CC, which tallied a 10-1/2 game improvement over his first three seasons with the squad, racked up nine All-Conference awards and one Region Player of the Year laurel during Britt's tenure. Forty players transitioned into collegiate baseball at the NAIA and NCAA levels, including 24 NCAA Division II commitments.
Britt returned to the Black & Gold for the 2021-22 season and helped lead the Braves to a 38-17 record, including a 23-7 clip in Conference Carolinas play, as well a berth in the NCAA Southeast Regional. Under Britt's direction, UNCP pitchers held opponents to a .264 batting average and struck out a then-school record 533 batters in 467 1/3 innings pitched, while also seeing righthander Darren Bowen get selected in the 13th round of the MLB Draft. Bowen joined both Landen Smith and Evan McLean as All-Conference honorees, as well.
Britt would spend the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Limestone, joining a Saints team that won 4 games in 2022 and helped lead them to a 19-win campaign the following year and 23 wins during the 2024 season.
A standout for coach Mike Kennedy at Elon from 2007-2010, Britt made 80 appearances for the Phoenix, logging an 18-7 career record and five saves, including a junior campaign that saw him finish 8-1 with two saves. He was a part of three NCAA Regional teams and two 40+ win seasons at Elon. Following his senior season, Britt was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 29th round, and would spend two years in the Brewers organization.
Britt graduated from Elon in 2010 with a degree in business administration, and earned his Master's degree in sport administration from UNC Pembroke in 2017. Britt and his wife, Morgan, have a daughter, Mabry, and a son, Jones.
