AS A FRESHMAN (2017): Saw action in nine games from the mound, including one start … Registered a 0-0 record, an 8.22 ERA and two saves in 15.1 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts and seven walks … Picked up a save in his collegiate debut against Shepherd in the season opener, striking out two and allowing four hits in three innings of work … Also nabbed a save in his second appearance of the season against Concord (game two), striking out three and surrendering just a lone unearned run in three innings of relief work … Pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Columbus State (game two), Georgia College (game one) and Coker (game two), but was not awarded a decision … Pitched 3.1 innings in his first career start against Chowan (game one), but was not awarded a decision.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Fairmont High School for coach Sandy Thorndyke … Earned second-straight all-county honors as a senior after tallying a 10-3 record with 136 strikeouts … Also picked up all-conference, all-state and counter player of the year laurels … Registered a 9-1 record with 68 strikeouts as a junior … Also lettered in bowling for the Golden Tornadoes.
 
PERSONAL: The son of Angie and Mike Lovin … Has two sisters, Taylor and Mariah … Father competed for the Braves as well … Maintained a 3.5 cumulative grade point average at Fairmont High School … A biology major at UNCP.
