AS A SOPHOMORE (2016): Saw action in eight games from the mound, including three starts … Posted a 2-1 record and a 3.5 ERA in 12-1/3 innings pitched with 14 strikeouts and 10 walks … Held opponents to a .245 batting average … Opened his season with two scoreless relief stints against Pfeiffer (1.0 IP) and Montevallo (1.2 IP) … Earned his first start against Millersville … Picked up his first win at UNCP after striking out two and allowing just one hit in a two-inning start (pre-determined rotation) against Catawba … Also grabbed the win in his next start against Chowan in which he struck out six and scattered five hits and a pair of runs (one earned) across three innings of work.

BEFORE UNCP: Played two seasons (2014-15) at Wake Tech CC in Raleigh … Saw action in 10 games from the hill as a sophomore, all in relief … Turned in a 0-1 record with one save and a 5.54 ERA in 13 innings pitched with 18 strikeouts and seven walks … Also registered a perfect fielding percentage in four total defensive chances … Earned a save by striking out two over one scoreless inning of relief against Onondaga … Saw action in three games as a freshman, all in relief … Tallied a 0-0 record and a 3.38 ERA in eight innings with six strikeouts and two walks … Struck out four in three innings of relief at Patrick Henry.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at South Granville High School for coach Kevin Ferrell … Earned all-state accolades as a prep senior … Was also an all-state standout in football for the Vikings.

PERSONAL: The son of Janell and Jay Fuhr … Has a younger sister, Megan … Maintained a 3.6 cumulative grade point average at South Granville High School … An accounting major at UNCP.
