As A Freshman (2009)
Posted his first collegiate time at the UNCP Invitational with a 29:04.69 8K to place seventh for the Braves and 17th overall … Posted a personal best 17:30.57 5K at the UNCW/Adidas Seahawk Invitational on Sept. 11 while finishing seventh for the Black and Gold and 37th overall … Picked up a personal best 8K time at the Great American Cross Country Invitational with a 28:07, a time that earned him an eighth place finish with UNCP and 88th overall … Finished out his freshman season with a 29:15.00 8K at the Mount Olive Invitational, placing sixth within the Braves squad and 12th overall.

High School
Was a letterman in both cross country and track under Coach Randy McDonough … Named most improved runner during his junior and senior seasons … Picked up two Conference Championships during 2007 and 2008 … Conference and Regional qualifier during 2007 … Helped 2008 team place third at the regional meet and 12th at states.

Personal
Son of Randy and Andrea McDonough … Has a brother, Brett who ran competitively at Guilford … Involved in Open Mic Club and Drama at Watauga … Traveled to Australia during the summer of 2008 with People-to-People as a student ambassador.
