All-Peach Belt Conference ... CoSIDA Academic All-District ... PBC All-Academic Team ... PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... DII ADA Academic Achievement Award … Ran his season best time in the 8K at the Peach Belt Conference Championships where he placed sixth (second finisher for the Braves) with a time of 25:21.82 to log the 19th fastest time in school history and as the UNCP men’s team placed second … At the Sand Shark Invitational, he ran a time of 25:52.26 for a 51st place finish (fifth finisher for the Braves) and help the Braves to a fifth place finish … Finished 84th at the NCAA Southeast Region Championships with a time of 35:47.29 as the Braves placed sixth overall … Competed in his first cross country race of the season at the Queens Twilight Invitational where he helped the team become race champion with an eighth place finish and a personal best time in the 5K (16:05.4) as the second finisher for UNCP … Captured a top-5 finish at the Bulldog Cross Country Invitational as he ran a time of 27:56.44 for a fifth place finish (fourth place finisher for UNCP) and a team champion honor … Registered a 19th place finish (fourth finisher for UNCP) with a time of 26:30.5 at the Charlotte Cross Country Invitational in which the Braves captured third place … At the Royals Cross Country Challenge, he logged a 22nd place finish (second for UNCP) as he crossed the finish line in a time of 26:07.0.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Named to the all-PBC, PBC All-Sportsmanship and USTFCCCA All-Academic teams and was a PBC Runner of the Week on Sept. 23 … Garnered the D2 Academic Achievement Award … A member of the PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... Was the lead runner for the Braves throughout most of the season … Ran his personal best time in the 8K at the PBC Championships with a time of 25:32.8 for a seventh place finish as the UNCP men’s team placed third and he ran the 21st fastest time in school history … At the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships, he ran a time of 33:30.2 for a 46th overall finish, third on the team, for a personal best time in the 10K to assist the Braves in finishing seventh overall … Crossed the finish line in fifth with a time of 25:34.7 to notch the 22nd fastest time in school history at the Charlotte Cross Country Challenge … Won the Bulldog Stampede with a time of 27:35 in the 8K to assist the team in capturing the title of team champion … Finished fourth at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational with a time of 16:16.58 in the 5K to help UNCP become race champion in the opening meet of the season … Claimed a 26th place finish at the Royal Cross Country Challenge with a time of 26:16.0.
BEFORE UNCP
Ran one year at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn. under coach Bryson Harper … Post his fastest 5K in a time of 15:56.84 and 8K with a time of 25:59.51 to log All-Appalachian Athletic Conference laurels with an eighth place finish, and was named AAU Runner of the Week … The squad won the Appalachian Athletic Conference and placed 13th at the NAIA National Championships in cross country … At the national meet, he was the fifth Lion to cross the finish line at the NAIA National Championship in Vancouver, Wash.
HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Martinsville High School under coach Gregg Dean … A three-year letterman in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field and soccer, as well as a one-year letterman in baseball … Assisted the Bulldogs in becoming district cross country champions and finish 22nd at the state championships as a senior … In cross country, he was the cross country district champion, 2A state qualifier and all-region team member … Ran a time of 16:29 in the 5K, 4:22.67 in the mile, 4:21.15 in the 1600m, 1:59.44 in the 800m and 2:36.21 in the 1000m run … Was an Indoor EE New Balance Nationals Mile qualifier, an all-state and third place finisher in the 1000m run at the 2A indoor championships, while also becoming the regional champion in the 1000m run … As a junior, he was the cross country district champion, 1600m district and regional champion and state qualifier, while also being named all-region and a state qualifier in the 1000m run.
