AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Ran his personal best time in the 8K at the Sand Shark Invitational where he placed 36th (third finisher for the Braves) with a time of 25:36.40 to help the Braves to a fifth place finish … At the Peach Belt Conference Championships, he ran a time of 26:14.47 for a 25th place finish (fifth finisher for the Braves) as the UNCP men’s team placed second … Finished 45th as the fourth runner for UNCP at the NCAA Southeast Region Championships with a time of 34:40.57 as the Braves placed sixth overall … Competed in his first cross country race of the season at the Queens Twilight Invitational where he helped the team become race champion with a 17th place finish and a personal best time in the 5K (16:31.2) as the fourth finisher for UNCP … Captured a top-10 finish at the Bulldog Cross Country Invitational as he ran a time of 28:10.34 for a seventh place finish (fifth place finisher for UNCP) and a team champion honor … Registered a 18th place finish (third finisher for UNCP) with a time of 26:29.8 at the Charlotte Cross Country Invitational in which the Braves captured third place … At the Royals Cross Country Challenge, he logged a 27th place finish (fourth for UNCP) as he crossed the finish line in a time of 26:33.7.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Ran his personal best time in the 8K at the PBC Championships with a time of 26:28.64 for a 27th place finish as the UNCP men’s team placed third and he was the fourth finisher from the squad to cross the finish line … At the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships, he ran a time of 34:03.1 for a 66th overall finish, and fourth on the team, for a personal best time in the 10K to assist the Braves in finishing seventh overall … Placed fourth at the Bulldog Stampede with a time of 28:31 in the 8K to assist the team in capturing the title of team champion as he was the third Brave to cross the finish line … Finished 22nd at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational with a time of 17:59.14 in the 5K to help UNCP become race champion in the opening meet of the season … Dropped 57 seconds in the 8K at the Charlotte Cross Country Invitational (48th, 27:34.8) and another 52 seconds at the Royal Cross Country Challenge (39th, 26:42.1) in back-to-back races.

BEFORE UNCP
Attended Limestone College and ran cross country and track and filed under Kevin Vees … Redshirted his first year with the Saints … Was a member of the Saints that was an all-academic team ... Saw action in all seven meets in first year of collegiate competition in 2012 … Posted time of 28:24.98 and placed 33-of-82 at Conference Carolinas Championships (10/19) … Finished 5-of-53 (30:45) at Columbia International Invitational (9/22) … Placed 15-of-65 with a time of 28:54 at Warrior Cross Country Invitational (9/29) … Was 63-of-203 (29:11) at Eye Opener (8/31) … Garnered the first Conference Carolinas outdoor track and field championship ... In indoor track and field, he competed in all five meets, while posting season-best time of 4:55.51 in one mile run at Clemson’s Orange & Purple Classic (12/1) while finishing 4-of-6 … Placed 13-of-23 in 800-meter run, delivering season-best time of 2:07.15 at Liberty Open (1/26) … Was 20-of-28 in one mile run (4:59.98) at Winston-Salem State Invitational (1/20) … In outdoor track and field, he saw action in five of eight meets … Delivered season-best time of 16:43.93 in 5,000-meters at High Point University Vertklasse Invitational (3/23) … Placed 3-of-14 in the 4x800-meter relay (8:01.32) and 7-of-13 in 5,000-meters (16:46.36) at Terrier Relays (4/6) … Finished 20-of-43 in 800-meters (2:07.89) at Powersox Invitational (3/2).

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at the Durham School of the Arts under coach Chris Huggins... A four-year letterman in track and field and three-year letterman in cross country … Qualified for North Carolina High School Athletic Association Cross Country Championships as a junior and senior … Placed 23rd as a senior … Named to North Carolina Mid-East All-Regional Team following that season ... Served as Team Co-Captain  and was named team Most Valuable Player as a senior … As a track athlete, had a tremendous senior season, setting the school record in the 1,600-meter event while leading record breaking 4x8 relay team to its first ever State Championship meet … Was named to the North Carolina Mid-East All-Regional Team.

PERSONAL
The son of Ayenu Abdi and Emebet Admasu … Has three sisters, Pommy, Bilen and Zebib … A business administration and management major at UNCP.
