AS A FRESHMAN (2014)
A member of the squad that earned the Team NSCAA Academic Award … PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... As a defender, he played in 17 with 15 starts to his credit to record 1362 minutes on the field … Took two shots this season, one against Montevallo and the other against Flagler … Assisted in holding Georgia Southwestern, Flagler, North Georgia, Erskine, Chowan and USC Aiken to 10 or less shots during the game … Helped UNCP post six shutouts during the season over Montevallo, Barton, Francis Marion, Mars Hill, North Georgia and Chowan to rank third in the PBC … Assisted UNCP in goals-against average (1.13) and allowed 20 goals this season to rank fifth and fourth in those categories in the PBC, respectively … The defense held opponents to a .092 shot percentage and .394 shots on goal percentage … Recorded a season-high 110 minutes in the standstill with Francis Marion and 90 minutes in 12 other contests.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Mallard Creek High School, but played club soccer for the Carolina Rapids U18 and U16 Academy teams under coach Kevin Johnson … In his senior year, he started nine games and assisted the team to a 20-4-3 record … Team was ranked fifth in the nation by USSDA and was on track to become the highest seed in the playoffs in the southeast conference … As a junior, he started in 12 of the 18 games he played as the team went 7-9-10 during the season.

PERSONAL
The son of Cyndi and Michael Poell … Has five brothers, Michael, Garrett, Adam, Carson and Brody, and two sisters, Krista and Kadi … Graduated with a 3.1 cumulative grade point average … A member of the A/B Honor Roll and took honors classes in English, pre-calculus, chemistry and history … Also was enrolled in advanced placement English and government … An exercise physiology major at UNCP.
