HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Monroe High School under Johnny Sowell in his senior season and at Weddington High School under Justin Harden in his junior year … Lettered three years in football and track and field … As a senior, he garnered the 2012 Outstanding Athletic Performance & State Championship Achievement in 1A North Carolina Men’s Track, NCHSAA State Championship Participation Award in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x200m relay and 4x400m relay … Won the 2011-12 Rocky River Runner of the Year Award, Outstanding Senior Award (Leadership Award), 2011-2012 indoor and outdoor MVP award and was named Boys Track Most Outstanding … Placed first in the 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay, 100m dash, and medley relay, and second in the 200m dash at the regional meet … State champion in the 100m dash, 4x400m relay and 4x200m relay, while also finishing third in the 200m dash at the state championships … Took home second in the 100m dash at the champion of champions meet and first in the 100m dash, 200m dash and 4x400m relay in the conference meet … In football, he was named all-conference and best newcomer as well as the 12th man award in his junior year.
