Prepped at Roanoke Rapids High School under coach Ed Nelson … Lettered in football, basketball and track and field … Named all-conference in football and track and field … Was NCC conference champion in the 100m dash, 200m dash and 400m dash his senior year … Helped the team become 2A East Regional Champions his senior year and became a regional champion in the 400m dash.

The son of Mashell and Shawn Mangum … Has three brothers, Mondray, Antonio and Ronnie, as well as three sisters, Shantel, Keyina and Oneisha … Ranked 84th out of his 200-member senior class and garnered a 3.46 cumulative grade point average … A criminal justice major at UNCP.
