Prepped at Rocky Mount High School under Coach Brian Winham … Four-year letterman in cross country and track, and was a three-year letterman in indoor track … Four-time all-conference, three-time all-region and 2008 State Champion Runner-Up … Registered a personal-record in the 5K with a time of 16:34 during his senior year … The team placed first in the Big East Conference, first in the East Region and fourth in the state meet during the 2009 and 2010 seasons … In track, he posted a personal-best in 1,600m and 800m with times of 4:42 and 2:02, respectively … Ranked second in conference and third in the region in his senior year, and fifth in the conference and 13th in the region in his junior campaign.
