HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Southside High School under coach DeWayne Kellum … A three-year letterman in track and field, as well as a two-year letterman in basketball and a one-year letterman in football … Despite not having a track team his junior year, he place first in the conference meet his senior year in the triple jump, 200m dash and 4x400m relay team and finished second in the long jump … At the regional meet, he captured a first place finish in the triple jump, 4x400m relay and 200m dash, as well as second in the long jump … Was runner-up in the 4x400m relay and third in the long jump and 200m dash at the state championship meet … Garnered numerous accolades including MVP at the regional meet, Male Athlete of the Year, Four Rivers Men’s Track and Field Player of the Year, Faster Runner on the East Coast Player of the Year … Helped the Seahawks become conference and regional champions, as well as place seventh at the state meet … Also ran for Track Eastern under coach Dave Simpson … At the 2011 USATF National Junior Olympic Track Meet, he place second in the 4x400m relay and third in the 4x100m relay.

PERSONAL
The son of China and James Ward … Attended Louisburg College from 2011-12 but did not compete athletically for the school … An information technology major at UNCP.
