AS A FRESHMAN (2012)
Posted a personal best in the 800m run at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational with a time of 2:14.59 for a 14th place finish … Finished 19th overall in the 1500m run at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational for a new personal best time of 4:29.21 … Set a personal best in the 5000m run at the Savannah State Eyeopener with a time of 17:55.88 for a 17th place finish … At the Weems Baskin Invitational, he competed in the 800m run (51st, 2:17.10) and the 1500m run (43rd, 4:37.63) … Also ran the 1500m run at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational for a 20th place finish with a time of 4:35.81.

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Northern High School for Coach Payne … Letterman in cross country for three years and track and field for two years, while also participating in soccer and wrestling … Received the Rookie Award and Coaches Award in cross country as well as being named all conference … In his senior year, he ran the 5K in 17:00 and the two mile run in 10:50 along with helping his team place second at the conference meet … During his junior campaign, he ran the 5K in 17:45, the mile in 4:50 and the 800m run in 2:07 and was named all-conference in track.

PERSONAL
The son of Iena Suzane Pierce and David Cole … Has an older brother and one younger sister … Graduated with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average as the 59th member of his 348 member class … A member of the A/B Honor Roll, National Honors Society and Anime Club … Garnered the Artamanda Award at the NC State fair as a beginner, the Blue and Gold Award and the best male artist award in 2011 … A pre-engineering major at UNCP.
