Ashtyn Patterson

A decorated student-athlete for a pair of NCAA Division II squads, Ashtyn Patterson makes her move into the coaching world in 2022-23 as a graduate assistant coach for the Braves.
 
Patterson, comes to Pembroke via nearby Francis Marion where she was a 3-year starter for the Patriots in the infield. She played her first two collegiate seasons at Carson-Newman.
 
A native of Andersonville, Tenn., Patterson logged time in 114 games (114 starts) at FMU, while also compiling a .363 career batting average to go along with 33 extra-base hits (10 HR), 59 RBI and 103 runs scored. She captured 1st Team All-Conference Carolinas honors as a senior after posting a .372 batting average with 17 extra-base hits (4 HR) and 33 RBI. She was also hit by pitch 40 times over her career with the Patriots, including 22 plunks as a senior.
 
Patterson made appearances in 38 games at Carson-Newman, including 31 starts as a sophomore.
 
A standout in the classroom at both institutions, Patterson raked in a slew of academic awards during her time as a collegiate athlete, including CoSIDA Academic All-District laurels following the 2022 campaign. Her stable of academic awards also includes a quartet of academic all-conference honors, three appearances on the NCAA D2 Academic Achievement Awards list and four FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll awards. She was also CN Gold Eagle Scholar Award recipient following both seasons at Carson-Newman.
 
Patterson earned bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and art education from Francis Marion in 2022, and is pursuing her master’s degree in professional school counseling at UNCP. She resides in Pembroke with her dog, Tucker.
