A nationally certified athletic trainer, Kelsey Fraser enters her third year with the UNC Pembroke athletic department as an athletic trainer graduate assistant for the 2016-17 athletic year and has been charged with the day-to-day responsibilities of volleyball and softball.
During her clinical experience at East Carolina, she worked with the football, track and field, cross country, men’s basketball and swimming and diving teams at ECU along with various sports at South Central High School and at the East Carolina Family Medicine Center. With the Athletic Training Education Program Student Club, she volunteered her time with Adopt-A-Highway.
She is a member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA), Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association (MAATA) and the North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association (NCATA) and is also First Aid, CPR/AED certified and a certified nursing assistant.
She also worked at SilverCare as a nurse’s aide and provided care with activities of daily living, maintained patient stability, created a safe and effective environment, improved overall quality of life for the patient and necessary documentation.
As an active member and officer of the Kappa Delta Sorority, Fraser not only balanced Greek Life, but volunteering opportunities for Relay for Life, and also maintained a spot on the honor’s and dean’s lists throughout her undergraduate studies.
In May of 2014, Fraser graduated from East Carolina with a bachelor of science in athletic training. She is currently earning a master’s of physical education at UNCP.
