Having already turned in a highly-successful career as a student-athlete at the NCAA Division I level, Megan Dejter transitions into the coaching world as a graduate assistant coach for the Braves in 2018-19. Dejter will primarily work with UNCP’s pitching staff.
Â
An all-conference pitching standout at Towson, Djeter made 129 appearances (109 starts) for the Tigers from 2015-18 and tacked up more than 57 wins and a 3.11 ERA in 680-2/3 innings of work with 329 strikeouts. That included a senior season that watched her record a 24-8 record and a 2.08 ERA in 222-1/3 innings from the circle. Her efforts did not go unnoticed as she picked up a pair of Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week laurels, as well as first team all-conference recognition.
Â
She combined her athletic talents with hard work in the classroom as well. Having maintained a 3.65 cumulative grade point average over her collegiate academic career, she was recognized as a Google Cloud Academic All-District selection amid her senior campaign as well. She would eventually exit Towson ranking among the top 10 in five statistical categories, including second in career complete games (76) and third in both all-time victories and career starts.
Â
Dejter has already picked up coaching experience as an instructor with the Olney (Md.) Boys & Girls Club, as well as with the 5-Star Athletics Camp. An avid volunteer, her community service efforts include work with the Komen Walk for a Cure, the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Salvation Army.
Â
A native of Olney, Md., Dejter earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Towson in 2018 and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in sports administration at UNCP.
