AS A JUNIOR (2015)
PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... DII ADA Academic Achievement Award … Helped UNCP to earn the 2015 PBC Softball Sportsmanship Award … As a pitcher, she appeared in 32 games with 26 starts to her credit for UNCP … Posted a 2.77 era and 16-13 overall record in the circle with one save against Chowan … Finished 23 complete games and three shutouts in her 179.2 innings pitched … Gave up 191 hits, 92 runs (71 earned runs), 25 doubles, three triples 20 home runs and 33 walks … Threw a team-best 129 strikeouts to average 5.03 strikeouts per game … Pitched 709 at-bats and had a .269 batting average against, 1.000 fielding percentage and a .077 runners caught stealing percentage … Had two runners caught stealing and 24 stolen bases allowed … Dished out 44 assists, had four put outs and committed no errors … Allowed 22 sacrifice hits and three sacrifice flies … Committed 10 wild pitched and hit nine batters … Grabbed wins against Pfeiffer, St. Andrews three times, Mars Hill, Lander, Georgia Southwestern, Chowan, Winston-Salem State, Columbus State twice, Francis Marion, Flagler, USC Aiken twice and Mount Olive … Swept St. Andrews, Columbus State and USC Aiken … Struck out a season-best 10 batters in the victory over Winston-Salem State and another nine in the tight 1-0 win over Francis Marion on April 8 … Posted at least three strikeouts on 23 different occasions.

BEFORE UNCP
Attended Bryant University and played softball for two years under Shayne Lotito … As a sophomore, she saw time in 16 games including two in conference action with 13 starts to her credit … Recorded a 5-7 record in the middle with six complete games … Threw 66.2 innings and gave up 100 hits, 51 earned runs, struck out 22 and held a 5.35 ERA … Finished the season with a 3.94 ERA in conference action … Notched a shutout victory against Buffalo and assisted the team in clinching the NEC Conference Championship in 2014 … In her freshman season, she pitched in 12 games with two starts in the circle and went 14.1 innings with three strikeouts, 19 hits allowed and 12 runs given up … Finished the season with a 3.42 ERA.

Prepped at Aliso Niguel High School under coach Alan Couette … Lettered in softball … Also played club softball for American Athletics under the direction of Frank Rizzo.

The daughter of Cindy and Daryl Saunders … Has one sister, Michelle … Ranked 250th out of her 717-member senior class with a 3.4 grade point average … Was a member of the principal’s honor roll as a senior … An athletic training major at UNCP.
