As standout dancer and member of the spirit squad for the UNC Pembroke Braves during her undergraduate career.
A native of Liberia, she competed in scholarship pageants and was named the 2015 Miss Fayetteville, 2014 Miss Greater Carolina and was a top-ten finalist at both the 2014 and 2015 Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant. Beene was also a two-time Miss Congeniality scholarship winner.
A regular on the stage, she has played the lead role of Charlotte in UNCP’s production of Charlotte’s Web, was a cast member in the UNCP production of Chicago, performed on the summer tour with the UNCP Summer Theater Production and choreographs and performs in the UNCP semester dance concerts.
Under Beene's leadership, 2016-17 Spirit Squad Member of the Year Dasja Johnson was selected as a member of the Carolina Panthers' TopCats in April of 2017 and currently performs on the sidelines during Panthers games and appears at a plethora of events year round with the TopCats.
She graduated from UNC Pembroke in May of 2014 with her bachelor degree in mass communications with a concentration in public relations and received a masters degree from UNC Pembroke in physical education with a concentration in sports administration in December of 2017. She married her husband Adam Beene in 2017.
