With a wealth of experience already under her belt following clinical experiences at San Diego State, as well as a graduate assistantship with the Ohio athletics department, Alyssa Price joined the UNC Pembroke athletics department as an assistant athletic trainer in June 2018. Price has been charged with the day-to-day athletic training responsibilities for both the soccer and women’s basketball programs.
Price trekked to southeastern North Carolina from Athens, Ohio, where she served both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 athletic seasons as a valuable member of the Ohio athletics department. She worked primarily with the Bobcats women’s soccer and women’s swimming & diving teams, while also contributing to the day-to-day duties for the women’s basketball program. Her services at Ohio also included serving as a certified athletic trainer for the department's 2017 summer camps as well.
A native of Templeton, Calif., Price dove into the profession amid her undergraduate work at San Diego State and assisted in the athletic training duties for the volleyball, men’s basketball, football and men’s tennis teams at the University of San Diego. Her initial clinical experience came at San Diego Mesa Community College where she worked with the men’s basketball, football, women’s soccer, softball and track & field squads.
In addition to her athletic training certifications, Price is also a certified strength & conditioning specialist and also holds specialties as a basic life support provider and first responder first aid from the American Heart Association. She earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from San Diego State in 2016, and completed her master’s degree at Ohio in 2018.
