AS A JUNIOR (2015): PBC Presidential Honor Roll … Made cross country debut at the Royals Challenge (5K), finishing 312th with a time of 27:22.3.
AS A SOPHOMORE ON THE TENNIS TEAM (2014-15): Turned in an 8-8 record at the No. 6 singles spot and 1-3 mark at No. 5 singles, including a 3-10 mark in Peach Belt Conference action … Teamed with Morgan Sheehan in third doubles with a 7-10 record, while also going 0-2 with Hannah Ammons at the third court … Played a pivotal role in helping UNCP extend its non-conference win streak to 24-straight matches … Opened the season with a singles win against Converse and captured three-straight wins during the season in singles play against Newberry, Mount Olive and No. 30 Francis Marion … Notched PBC wins against Georgia Southwestern, Francis Marion and Lander … Opened up the season with a four-game winning streak in doubles action with wins over Converse, Coker, Chowan and Georgia Southwestern before adding another victory against Davis & Elkins to start the season with five wins in six matches … Wrapped up the fall season with a 3-6 singles record and a 1-4 mark in doubles play.
AS A FRESHMAN ON THE TENNIS TEAM (2013-14): Played at the No. 3 doubles spot paired with Monica Espitia and Madeline DiNunzio … Won her first doubles match without allowing one game against Belmont Abbey … Played a pivotal role in helping UNCP extend its non-conference win streak to 23-straight matches … Paired with Espitia grabbed back-to-back victories against Georgia Southwestern and Mount Olive … Later in the season won consecutive matches against Coker and No. 41 Francis Marion with DiNunzio … Notched a 2-4 singles record through the Fall season, as well as a 3-3 doubles record with DiNunzio … Opened her UNCP career with a three-set singles win over an opponent from University of Charleston (W.Va) … Teamed with DiNunzio claimed two-consecutive doubles wins against Methodist University and Spartanburg Methodist at the Methodist Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Swansboro High School under coach Jim Sheehan … A four-year letterman in tennis and softball, and a three-year letterman in basketball … Held an 18-1 record at No. 1 singles her senior year … First player from Swansboro High to qualify for the NCHASAA 2-A state championship four-consecutive years … Named to all-conference and all-region teams all four years and earned the MVP award … Won the conference tournament twice and the regional tournament once.
PERSONAL: The daughter of Ellen and Jim Sheehan … Ranked 43rd out of her 226-member senior class with a weighted 3.9 grade point average … Was the secretary of the National Honor Society, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, anchor for the school news and a member of the yearbook staff … Her cousin Kari Morrison plays lacrosse at Virginia Tech, while her other cousin Tripp Sheehan is a member of the men’s soccer team at Westminster College … A mass communications major at UNCP.
