Season bests: 100 Free (58.62), 200 Free (2:04.33), 500 Free (5:43.85), 1000 Free (11:43.80), 1650 Free (19:50.97), 100 Fly (1:08.77), 200 Fly (2:35.01), 200 IM (2:24.64), 400 IM (5:03.51)
Mountain East Conference All-Academic Team ... Won event titles in both the 100 Free and 200 IM in the dual meet with St. Andrews … Also swam a leg on four relay squads … Competed in the final leg of the school-record performance by the 400 Medley Relay team at the Fall Frenzy Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Sagemont Upper School for coach Neto Miller … Captained her team as a senior … Placed third in the 1650 Freestyle at the Speedo Winter Championships as a senior … Also captured the event title in the 500 Freestyle at the Mike Horgan Invitational, while also placing third in the 1650 Freestyle … Finished second in the 800 Freestyle at the Jesse Vassallo Invitational.
 
PERSONAL: The daughter of Angela Guarin and Ricardo Sarmiento … Has an older brother, Santiago, and a younger brother, Juan … Maintained a 4.2 cumulative grade point average at Sagemont Upper School … Has lived in six different countries (Venezuela, South Korea, Nigeria, Italy, Colombia and the United States) … Hobbies include reading, watching movies and television, cooking and thrift shopping … Named her parents as her heroes … Favorite movies are Stuck In Love and How To Train Your Dragon … Favorite food is burrito bowls, or bowls in general … A double major in history and mass communications at UNCP.
