AS A SOPHOMORE (2015)
Posted an eight place finish in the heptathlon with 3087 points as she scored points for the Braves at the PBC Championships … In the heptathlon, she logged personal bests in the 100m hurdles (10th, 19.94 seconds), 800m run (2nd, 2:37.15), javelin (10th, 15.95m) and shot put (12th, 6.62m), while also placing third in the 200m dash (27.70 seconds) and long jump (5.02m) and finishing sixth in the high jump (1.32m) … Also placed 12th in the long jump with a mark of 4.88m at the PBC Championships … Registered personal bests in the 200m dash (27.14 seconds) and 400m dash (1:02.16) at the Aggie Invitational … At the VertKlasse Meeting, she logged a personal best jump in the high jump (5.30m) to place 17th overall, while also competing in the shot put (57th, 6.37m) and 200m dash (56th, 28.14 seconds) … Claimed a personal best distance in the long jump (5.30m) for a fourth place finish at the Dennis Craddock Carolina Relays, while also notching a fifth place finish in the 400m dash (1:04.10) … Competed in the 400m dash (26th, 1:04.20) and 800m run (38th, 2:45.48) at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational along with the indoor 800m run (38th, 2:44.45) at the UCS Invitational ... Was the third leg of the 4x400m relay at the Aggie Invitational (8th, 4:13.93), final leg at the Dennis Craddock Carolina Relays (2nd, 4:15.06), third leg at the UCS Invitational (8th, 4:19:00) and second leg at the Vert Klasse Meeting (14th, 4:24.13).

AS A FRESHMAN (2014)
Registered a personal best time in the 100m dash (13.71 seconds) and the 200m dash (28.52 seconds) at the Wofford College Terrier Relays for a 24th and 21st place finish, while also finishing 27th in the 400m dash with a time of 1:06.89 … At the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, she placed 39th (28.84 seconds) in the 200m dash, 33rd (1:06.06) in the 400m dash for a personal best time and 30th in the long jump with a personal best mark of 4.25m … Was the third leg of the 4x100m relay (49.44 seconds) for an 8th place finish and the final leg of the 4x400m relay (4:35.96) at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, and the third leg of the 4x200m relay (1:45.76) for an 18th place finish at the Wofford College Terrier Relays.

BEFORE UNCP
Attended N.C. Central but did not compete in track and field.

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at St. Pauls High School under coaches David Shaw and David Lewis … Lettered in cross country, track and field and cheerleading … Received the coaches award and MVP in track and field and runner of the year and MVP in cross country … Was an upcoming leader in cheerleading … Ran a time of 28:55.66 in the 5K as a cross country runner in her senior season … Placed third in the track and field regional in the 200m dash with a time of 26.74 seconds … Helped the 4x200m relay team because back-to-back state and regional championships, while also assisting the 4x100m relay team in placing second in the state meet as a junior and first as a senior.

PERSONAL
The daughter of Dorthy Sykes … Has one broth, Anthony, and one sister Akela … Ranked 24th out of her 201-member senior class with a 3.7 cumulative grade point average … Was a member of the AB Honor Roll and graduated magna cum laude … An exercise and sports science major at UNCP.
