AS A FRESHMAN (2014)
Registered a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 11.42m for a sixth place finish and a mark of 34.17m in the hammer throw for a seventh place finish at the PBC Championships to score five points for the Braves … Notched a personal best in the discus at the CCU Chanticleer Classic with a distance of 28.89m and a 12th place finish, while also placing 12th in the hammer throw (33.69m) and eighth in the shot put (11.05m) … Threw the hammer throw a personal best distance of 36.50m at the Wofford College Terrier Relays to finish 11th, and a distance of 28.79m in the discus throw (21st) and a mark of 10.68m in the shot put (11th) … At the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, she competed in the discus throw (21st, 27.04m), the hammer throw (21st, 32.19m) and the shot put (15th, 10.35m).

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at South View High School under coach Jesse Autry in her senior year and Brent Barher in her junior campaign … Lettered in track and field, basketball and softball … As a senior, she garnered a silver medal at the Bill Carver Classic, as well as two bronze medals at the Mid-South 4A Conference Meet … Ended the season with three first-place, four second –place and five third-place finishes … Helped the Tigers conference champions … In her junior year, the squad became Holiday Classic Champions and made it to the Final Four of the state championships with a 29-1 overall record … Received the scholar athlete award (2011-12), most improved award (2009-10) and most outstanding player (2010-11) in basketball.

PERSONAL
The daughter of Tiffany and Stephen Gorrell … Has two sisters, Daija and Amiya, and a brother, Devin … Ranked 39th out of her 331-member senior class with a 3.96 cumulative grade point average … A member of the A and A/B Honor Roll, the marching band, the ROTC Honor Guard and Drill Team … A criminal justice major at UNCP.
