PBC Field Athlete of the Year … All-PBC in the discus and the javelin throws … PBC Field Athlete of the Week on March 18 and April 7 … USTFCCCA All-Region in both the discus and javelin … CoSIDA Academic All-District … PBC All-Academic Team … PBC Presidential Honor Roll … DII ADA Academic Achievement Award … Clinched the school record with a provisional qualifying mark in the javelin throw at the PBC Championships with a throw of 42.79m to become event champion and score points for the Braves while also notching a personal best throw in the discus with a mark of 40.36m to win the event and a fourth place finish in the hammer throw with a season best distance of 44.10m … Collected a runner-up finish at the VertKlasse Meeting in the javelin with a distance of 40.98m along with a 10th place finish in the discus (37.83m) and an 11th place finish in the hammer throw (41.91m) … At the UNF East Region Preview, she competed in the javelin (3rd, 40.66m), discus (6th, 40.18m) and hammer (10th, 43.28m) throws … Posted a second place finish in the javelin at the Aggie Invitational (37.08m), sixth place finish in the hammer (41.51m) and eighth place finish in the discus (36.50m) … Was runner-up at the App State Outdoor Open in the javelin (39.09m) and 22nd at the Raleigh Relays (33.29m) … Had a pair of top-five finishes at the Dennis Craddock Carolina Relays in the hammer (5th, 41.15m) and javelin (3rd, 38.25m) along with a sixth place finish in the discus (37.78m) … Competed in the discus (4th, 37.20m), hammer (8th, 42.49m) and javelin (4th, 40.53m) throws … Tallied 18 top-10 finishes, had seven top-5 finishes in the javelin and improved on school record in javelin three times this season.
AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Garnered the D2 Academic Achievement Award … Named all-PBC in the hammer and javelin, USTFCCCA all-region in the javelin, discus and hammer, as well as to the PBC All-Academic team, CoSIDA Academic All-District and was a member of the PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... Broke her own school record in the javelin throw with a distance of 39.86m at the CCU Chanticleer Classic to win the event, as well as place third in the hammer throw (42.88m) and fifth in the discus throw (38.10m) … At the PBC Championships, she won the javelin throw with a mark of 37.90m, finished third in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 44.37m and claimed a fifth place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 35.84m to score a team-high 20 points for the Braves … Notched a personal best in the discus throw at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational with a distance of 39.65m for a sixth place finish, while also competing in the hammer throw (11th, 42.68m), shot put (21st, 9.50m) and finish as runner up in the javelin throw with a mark of 39.74m … At the CCU Shamrock Invitational, she placed 10th in the javelin throw (38.59m), 15th in the hammer throw (41.98m) and 17th in the discus throw (37.97m) … Also competed in the weight throw (19th, 12.10m) and shot put (27th, 8.37m) at the Tar Heel Open.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Named PBC Field Athlete of the Year, All-PBC and USTFCCCA All-Region in the hammer throw, javelin and the discus throw, a member of the PBC Presidential Honor Roll and the PBC All-Academic team … Broke the school record in the javelin (35.91m) at the CCU Chanticleer Classic for a third place finish, while also placing first in the discus (39.37m), fourth in the hammer throw (41.29m) and eighth in the shot put (8.77m) … Became PBC Champion in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.96m for her personal best mark of the season, and took home two second place finishes in the javelin (35.24m) and discus (38.56m) at the PBC Championships, and an eighth place finish in the shot put (8.77m) … At the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, she claimed her best finish of the year in the shot put with a 8.86m mark for a 10th place finish, while also placing fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 33.74m, seventh in the discus throw with a mark of 35.85m and 12th in the hammer throw with a distance of 37.10m … Notched a seventh place finish in the discus throw (35.70m) and a 26th place finish in the shot put (7.41m) at the Weems Baskin Invitational … At the CCU Shamrock Invitational, she competed in the hammer throw (35th, 36.40m), the javelin (13th, 35.52m) and the discus throw (28th, 35.87m).
AS A FRESHMAN (2012)
A member of the Peach Belt Conference Honor Roll as a Silver Scholar and was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team for the javelin and discus throws ... Set a new school record in the javelin at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational with a mark of 35.75m for a first place finish, while also finishing fourth in the discus throw (39.08m) and fifth in the hammer throw (28.85m) … Captured two personal bests in the shot put (9.14m) and discus throw (39.21m) at the Wofford College Terrier Relays for a 10th and second place finish, respectively, while also finishing second in the javelin with a mark of 34.18m … Finished in the top-10 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in all four events including a second place finish in the javelin (35.51m), fourth in the discus (36.02m), seventh in the hammer throw (31.79m-PR) and a ninth place finish in the shot put (8.70m) … Captured a second place finish in the discus throw at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational with a distance of 38.15m, as well as third place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 31.57m … Finished first in the javelin throw, fourth in the discus and 11th in the shot put at the Savannah State Eyeopener with marks of 30.21m, 35.39m and 8.20m, respectively … Also competed at the CCU Shamrock Invitational in the discus (20th, 38.12m) and javelin (33rd, 32.08m), as well as the Weems Baskin Invitational in the javelin (13th, 30.83m) … In indoor track, she posted a personal best mark of 8.74m in the weight throw for a 16th place finish at the Kent Taylor Invitational, as well as a 17th place finish in the indoor shot put (7.76m) … Finished 33rd at the JDL Fast Track College Invitational in the shot put with a distance of 8.88m.

Prepped at Bunn High School under Coach David Howie … Three-year letterman in track and field and one-year letterman in cross country … Her senior year, she placed second at the NCHSAA 2A State Track Meet in the discus and first in the NCHSAA 2A Mideast Regional Meet … In county and conference, she won first place in the shot put and discus throw … Garnered all-conference honors and was named the Women’s Track and Field MVP … Currently hold the school record in the discus with a mark of 122’6” … The team placed third in the state meet, second in the regional meet and were named conference and county championships … As a junior, she placed third in the discus at the NCHSAA 2A State Track Meet and second at the NCHSAA 2A Mideast Regional Meet … Discus champion at the county meet … Received the Extra Effort Award for Track and Field and helped the team become conference and county champions.

The daughter of Wanda and Jim Metzinger ... Has one older brother … Ranked 14th out of her 189 member class and graduated with a 4.275 grade point average from Bunn High School … Graduated with high honors and was a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, NC Scholars and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes … Did ballet/dance for eight years and travel softball for six years with four years pitching … An education major at UNCP.
