AS A FRESHMAN (2013)
A member of the PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... As a midfielder, he played in 14 games with five starts to his credit to record 830 minutes on the field … Finished the season with two points after posting two assists this season … Took four shots, two of which (.500) were on goal … Tallied both assists in the 5-0 shutout win over Mount Olive … Registered a season-high two shots in the 1-1 standstill against North Georgia … Recorded a season-best 90 minutes against Francis Marion, Mount Olive, USC Aiken and Flagler ... UNCP skyrocketed to No. 15 in the national rankings for the second time in the Phil Hindson era after starting the season with a 5-1-0 record … During the season, the Braves shutout then-No. 3 Lander to mark one of the biggest wins in school history from a rankings standpoint.  

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Heritage High School under coach Scott Sloan … Lettered in soccer, while also being a two-time academic all-conference, all-region and all-conference athlete, as well as male athlete of the month in October of 2011 … Helped the Huskies to become runner-up in the Cap 8 Conference and make it to the third round of the state tournament with a 16-7 record on the field … During his senior year, he scored five goals and dished out 16 assists … He became the first all-state player in school history as a senior and first all-conference player following his junior season … Played club soccer for '94 Carolina Select under coach Steven Curfman and contributed to a 4-4 record.

The son of Gloria Chavez and Wilfredo Elias … Was born in Barranquilla, Colombia … Ranked 26th out his 344-member senior class with a 4.39 grade point average … Was a member of National Achievers Society, National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society and HOSA … An athletic training major at UNCP.
