AS A FRESHMAN (2014-15): Compiled a 9-8 (.529) record – all in tournament settings … Registered three pins, one technical fall and one major decision … Went 2-3 against NCAA Division II competition … Placed fourth at the Panther Open … Registered a 3-2 mark in his collegiate debut at The Citadel Open … Picked up first collegiate victory against Central Florida’s Jesus Nieves (10-3) … Split four matches at both the Shorter Open and the Panther Open.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Carver High School for coach Michael Hardee … Registered a 35-3 mark as a prep senior and finished runner-up at the state tournament … Earned most outstanding wrestler recognition at the region tournament after capturing the region championship for the second-straight year … Turned in a 32-8 mark as a junior and placed fifth at the state tournament … Also lettered in football, golf and baseball for the Yellow Jackets.

PERSONAL: The son of Fredericka McClain and Rason Bethea … Maintained a 3.7 cumulative grade point average at Jacket Integrated Academy (part of Carver High School) and graduated third in his 15-member senior class … An athletic training major at UNCP.
